CLUB BRINKSMAT + STRUMMERVILLE PRESENTS

Club Brinksmat + Strummerville Presents return to The Star of Kings this October with another evening celebrating the very best of London’s independent live music.
Quietly establishing itself as one of London’s most exciting grassroots music nights, previous editions have featured headline performances from Jack Jones (Trampolene), Gemma Rogers and Bless, while the event has also received recognition on Steve Lamacq’s BBC Radio 6 Music show, where it was mentioned by a previous headliner.
With the previous event selling out in advance, the latest edition promises another carefully curated line-up of established favourites and emerging talent.
Headlining the evening are Them Nudes, marking the release of their first EP in 20 years. The last time the London four-piece officially put out new music, they were sharing bills with the likes of Jamie T, Florence and the Machine, The Maccabees and Dirty Pretty Things. After returning with a series of demos in 2023 and stepping back onto the live stage in 2024, they unveil a new collection of songs featuring South London Fairytale and Love Song for the Boys—their first full-length release sinceSomething to Say and 18.
Originally formed by Max Smoke, The Kid and Papa Gus, the current line-up was completed in December 2024 by old friend and long-time fan Steve Fuzz. The band’s songwriting remains rooted in the influence of The Clash and The Jam, combining punk energy with stories drawn from everyday London life.
Also on the bill is Danny Onions, playing his first gig of any kind in over six years. Best known for his work with The Meat and Onions Gang, he returns with a collection of new material, opening a new chapter in his songwriting career—and prompting hopes among fans that the night could prove a prelude to a long-awaited reunion.
A further special guest will be announced shortly.
Hosting the evening is Just Dennis, a familiar face from Strummerville’s stage at Glastonbury, introducing the acts and keeping the night moving between sets.
A portion of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to Euston Food Bank, supporting its work with individuals and families across the local community.
Whether you’re discovering the bands for the first time or have been following London’s independent music scene for years, this promises to be another memorable night celebrating original songwriting and live performance.
