PostScript present 'The Book Club'

Thursday 26th May, 7:30pm

PostScript invite you to a free evening of improv comedy inspired by your books!

Bring along a book with you - it could be your favourite novel, one you happen to be reading at the moment, something you've borrowed from a friend and never returned or just one you find on the tube. All the improv you will then be treated to by the PostScript team will be made up from inspiration taken from the books you have brought along.

However, that is not all! PostScript are very excited to announce that they will be joined by The Coaterie, a fantastic group of comedians combining improv and sketch comedy.

So bring a book and have a giggle down at The Star of Kings in Kings Cross on Wednesday 30th March. Doors open at 7.30pm, show starts at 8pm. Free admission

How Science Ruined My Life

Tuesday 7th June, 7pm

Steve Cross debuts his new hour-long solo show "How Science Ruined My Life".

Steve is unique among science comedians in the UK in that he knows no science at all. He founded Bright Club, where academics across Europe tells jokes about their work, and hosts Science Showoff but still has managed to absorb no science whatsoever.

Join him as he tries to make sense of why people keep booking him for science events, sending him their science homework questions and letting him loose inside their universities, museums and zoos. Contains swearing, rude ideas, angry tweets by teenagers and lots of science. Much to his annoyance.

The second half of the show will be presentations by scientists entitled "How Steve Cross ruined my life"

Vintage PABC - Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro

Kazuo Ishiguro imagines the lives of a group of students growing up in a darkly skewered version of contemporary England. Narrated by Kathy, now 31.

Never Let Me Go hauntingly dramatises her attempts to come to terms with her childhood at the seemingly idyllic Hailsham School, and with the fate that has always awaited her and her closest friends in the wider world. A story of love, friendship and memory,

Never Let Me Go is charged throughout with a sense of the fragility of life.

Jiggle & Hyde PRESENT: Sketchy Mother Pluckers.

Thursday 14th July, 7:30pm

Jiggle & Hyde are a brand new sketch comedy duo who have gathered up their combined experience in acting, broadcast, stand-up and dance to create their act and show new to the Fringe this year.

Both recent graduates of Logan Murray’s STAND UP AND DELIVER course, their flair for cartooning and characters brought them together to create an action packed 50-minute sketch show.

‘Sketchy Mother Pluckers’ has received direction from Logan Murray himself, as well as best-selling award-winning comic children’s writer Andy Stanton, author of the ‘Mr. Gum’ series of books.

Laying their cards on the table, these girls have had enough of poorly paid acting jobs, sharing a tiny room and life without a male companion. They’ve decided that comedians are the new rock stars and rock stars do loads of sex, so this is their way back in the game.
They tackle dating websites, TV personalities, racial stereotyping, grime music tutorials and scenes that will make you jiggle and sometimes want to hide.

With already clashing personalities, will their ruffled friendship survive their quest to find love or will this show reignite the true power of friendship?
